Professional Attire Collection

Suited for Change collects donations of women's professional clothing and accessories by appointment only. Appointments are available on the first Saturday of most months from 10 am to noon and on most Wednesdays between 11 AM and 1:30 PM. What We Need

All donations of professional attire and accessories must be interview-ready, meaning they can immediately be worn on a job interview when donated.

All donations of professional clothing and accessories must be in excellent condition, in current style, in current season, and clean. Professional clothing must be on hangers.

Specifically, we are in need of the following:

• Suits (especially in sizes 16+ and 2)
• Blazers
• Dresses
• Slacks
• Skirts
• Blouses
• Coats (winter months only)
• Shoes (especially in wide sizes and in sizes 9+)
• Boots (winter months only)
• Purses and Briefcases
• Jewelry
• Belts
• Scarves
• New, unopened hosiery (especially sizes Queen
  and above in black, off black, and all skin tones)

What We Do Not Accept

Suited for Change provides professional clothing and accessories to low-income women who are seeking employment. All donations must be appropriate for a job interview.

We cannot accept any clothing and accessories that are not professional in nature, including but not limited to:

• Sweaters
• Bathrobes
• Slippers
• Evening attire
• Holiday attire
• Casual attire (including Casual Friday)
• White or bright colored hosiery

There are many worthy organizations throughout the Washington, DC area who are in need of donations of non-business attire. For a partial list, click here.

Donation Procedures

1. Confirm your appointment date and time by phoning 202/293-0351, and selecting Mailbox #3, Professional Attire Drives or e-mailing attire@suitedforchange.org.

2. Donations are accepted at Suited for Change, 1010 Vermont Ave. N.W. Suite 900 , Washington , DC .

3. Please note, parking is quite problematic in our area. We recommend that you bring someone with you to sit in your car while you run in to your appointment, as you may have difficulty finding parking in close proximity to our building.

4. Once in our building, proceed to the 9th floor where you will be greeted by a Suited for Change representative.

5. Each appointment will last 15 minutes and there is a limit of 25 items (not including accessories) per scheduled appointment.

6. All donations to Suited for Change are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law and you will receive a receipt at the conclusion of your appointment.
