Our services are
available at no charge and by referral only to low-income women in D.C., Maryland and Virginia who have completed job training
and/or readiness programs and are seeking employment.
Your contributions can make a significant difference in the
lives of the women we serve.
To ensure the best
fit between volunteer interests and talents and our
organizational needs, all volunteers
are required to attend an orientation session (dates listed
here) prior to volunteering with SFC.

Client
Services
Clients are referred to Suited for Change from a network of over 125
job training programs and social service agencies in Washington, D.C.,
Maryland and Virginia. Each
client meets individually with a trained volunteer at an appointed time
to help her prepare for upcoming interviews. Volunteers are needed
during weekday business hours (10 am to 5 pm) to assist clients in the
selection of appropriate interview attire and guide them through the
career education services available to them.
Lunchtime and half-day opportunities are also available!
Professional

Women in the community, retailers and manufacturers donate
professional clothing and accessories to Suited for Change during
regularly scheduled clothing drives.
Volunteers are needed to greet donors and review
donated items the first Saturday of every month from 10 am to noon.

Following
every regularly scheduled clothing drive and as needed throughout the
year, volunteers are needed to sort and organize our donations.
