Partner Highlight: Empowering Women at the N Street Village Resource and Hygiene Fair

When our partners from the Bethany Women’s Center at N Street Village reached out to us, their message immediately resonated. They shared that N Street Village was launching a 10-week personal hygiene course and planning a small Hygiene & Resource Fair to celebrate its completion — an event designed to empower women through self-care, wellness, and community connection.
We knew right away that this collaboration was a perfect fit for Suited for Change and our Glam & Glow Series, which focuses on building confidence and self-worth through beauty, wellness, and self-care education.

On October 23, our staff joined the incredible women of N Street Village for this meaningful Hygiene and Resource Fair. Together with our amazing volunteer and Glam & Glow Beauty Lead, Michelle, we hosted an engaging, hands-on session exploring skincare, hygiene, and period-care essentials — from snail mucin and face masks to menstrual products.
We focused on creating a safe and welcoming space where women could ask questions, share experiences, and learn how small acts of self-care can make a big difference in how they present themselves. Throughout the day, our team connected with about 25 women, and by the end of the event, 15 had signed up on the spot to visit our boutique for Michelle’s next “Demo Monday,” where they would receive personalized beauty guidance in addition to our regular services of professional suiting and career coaching.
At Suited for Change, we believe building confidence begins long before the interview. Through events like this, we’re reminded that self-care is a foundation for resilience, dignity, and opportunity.
