We are honored to have been selected as a finalist for the 2021 Shauna Sorrells Grant.
Shauna dedicated her life to making a difference, primarily in affordable housing and found creative ways to address the holistic needs of families and children through the provision of stable housing in a supportive community setting.
Most important of all, she was a proud mom to her son, Isaiah. During her short time with us from 1972-2019, she made a significant impact.
The purpose of this award is to honor her legacy and continue her work by making a difference within communities most in need.
We at Suited for Change are thrilled for the opportunity to further Shauna's legacy of supporting the women in our community as they continue on their path to economic independence.

What stands out most is how Shauna’s vision connected housing with broader social Friday Night Funkin stability. Too often, support systems focus on one issue in isolation, but her approach acknowledged that safe, stable housing is foundational to everything else—especially for women and families striving for independence.
