Where Are They Now: Liza's Empowering Journey with SFC

Emma Hill at Suited for Change's Annual Gala, the 31 anniversary

As we celebrate Women's History Month, it's essential to recognize the remarkable success stories within our community.

Liza's journey with SFC began over a year and a half ago when she made the courageous decision to re-enter the workforce after dedicating several years to raising her five children. With determination and a desire for a fresh career chapter, she turned to SFC for support.

Following a successful suiting session with our volunteer stylist, Margaret, Liza emerged ready to tackle her interview with style, equipped with the perfect interview suit and newfound confidence. Thanks to her new clothing and increased confidence, Liza secured a position with the United States Postal Service, and she has thrived there ever since.

Over the past year and a half, we have had the privilege of seeing Liza every few months when she returns to the SFC boutique to shop at our seasonal boutique sales.

"I absolutely adore attending the boutique sales! It's a wonderful opportunity to catch up with the staff and volunteers, treat myself to a new outfit, and contribute to the community,"

she shares enthusiastically. Shopping at SFC goes beyond transactions; it's about making a tangible difference in others' lives.

Now, Liza is eager to broaden her horizons and make a meaningful impact within her community. Recently, she accepted a role as a Safe Passage Ambassador for the DC government's program, aimed at addressing school safety concerns with a focus on managing school arrival and departure procedures.

Let Liza's inspiring journey serve as a reminder of the resilience, determination, and limitless potential within each of us.
