With Gratitude: A Farewell Message from Liz Reinert

Dear Suited for Change Family,
As I prepare to close this chapter and step into retirement, I find myself reflecting on what an extraordinary privilege it has been to serve as Executive Director of Suited for Change.
There is so much I could say about my time here—the milestones we have reached, the challenges we have navigated, the programs we have strengthened, and the organization we have continued to build. But when I think about what I will remember most, it isn't a particular event, accomplishment, or number.
It is the people.

It is the women who have walked through our doors and trusted us to be part of an important moment in their lives.
It is seeing a client look in the mirror after finding just the right outfit and watching her confidence begin to change.
It is hearing from a woman who landed the job, earned a promotion, or simply walked into an interview believing in herself a little more than she did before.
Those moments have always reminded me why Suited for Change matters.
A Community That Makes This Work Possible
One of the greatest lessons from my time at SFC is that none of this work happens because of one person.
Our incredible volunteers give their time, talents, encouragement, and heart to the women we serve.
Our referral and community partners trust us with their clients and help ensure women throughout our region can access

our services.
Our donors, funders, corporate partners, and friends invest in our mission and give us the resources to continue growing and serving.
Our Board of Directors provides leadership, guidance, and a steadfast commitment to the future of this organization.
And our staff brings this mission to life every single day. I have been fortunate to work alongside people who care deeply about our clients and about one another. I could not be prouder of the team that will carry this work forward.
To each of you: thank you.
Thank you for believing in Suited for Change. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for sharing your resources, your expertise, your networks, your time, and your compassion.
Most of all, thank you for believing in the potential of every woman who comes through our doors.
More Than What We Wear
At first glance, Suited for Change may appear to be about professional clothing.
But anyone who has spent time here knows that the clothing is only the beginning.
What happens at SFC is about dignity. Confidence. Encouragement. Preparation. Opportunity.
Sometimes the right suit helps a woman see what everyone around her already sees—that she belongs in the room.
Career coaching can help her find the words to tell her story.
A workshop can give her a skill she needs to take her next step.
And having someone simply say, “You've got this,” can make all the difference.
That is the magic of Suited for Change, and it is something I hope this organization never loses.
Looking Ahead

One of the things that makes leaving a little easier is knowing that Suited for Change is ready for its next chapter.
I have had the pleasure of working closely with Natalie Bennett, and I am genuinely excited to see her step into the role of Executive Director.
Natalie believes deeply in this mission and brings energy, vision, and a strong commitment to expanding SFC's impact throughout the Washington metropolitan region. She understands that the strength of this organization comes from its people, its partnerships, and its unwavering focus on the women we serve.
I know she will bring her own ideas and leadership to SFC while honoring the heart of what has made this organization so special.
I leave knowing that SFC is in capable hands—with Natalie, our wonderful staff, our Board, our volunteers, and all of you standing behind this mission.
Until We Meet Again
Retirement is bittersweet.
I am excited about what comes next for me, but I will miss the people, the conversations, the celebrations, the laughter, and those wonderful everyday moments that make SFC feel like much more than an organization.
I will especially miss witnessing those moments of transformation—the moment a woman stands a little taller, smiles at herself in the mirror, and begins to see the possibilities ahead.
Those moments stay with you.
As I leave, my hope for Suited for Change is simple: keep going.
Keep opening doors.
Keep building confidence.
Keep creating opportunities.
Keep showing women that their circumstances do not define their potential.
And keep being the extraordinary community that has made this organization what it is today.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being part of the Suited for Change story. I leave with tremendous gratitude for what we have accomplished together and great excitement for everything still ahead.
This may be my farewell as Executive Director, but I will always be cheering for Suited for Change and the remarkable women at the heart of its mission.
With heartfelt gratitude,

Executive Director of Suited for Change
