A Night to Remember: Celebrating 32 Years of Impact

Record-Breaking Gala & a Heartwarming Surprise!

At the familiar venue of District Winery, we welcomed both new and returning faces to celebrate 32 years of Suited for Change's growing accomplishments, as we equip women in our community with the clothing, coaching, and confidence they need to secure and sustain employment.

Despite a few early afternoon showers, the skies cleared just in time to welcome our guests. Stepping through the doors, they were immediately immersed in an atmosphere buzzing with excitement.

Our exclusive St John Pop-Up boutique was an absolute hit! Guests discovered timeless fashion treasures to elevate their style, all thanks to our presenting sponsor, St. John Knits.

Taste buds were tingling thanks to the impressive spread: an array of charcuterie, delectable passed hors d'oeuvres (the devils on horseback were a crowd favorite), an entire Dim Sum station, and of course, no event at District Winery would be complete without a tasting booth featuring their signature wines.

The silent auction caused quite the raucous, with the Army v. Navy Football Game drawing an astonishing 57 bids! Other coveted items included a dreamy Under the Tuscan Sun vacation and a stunning Tiffany Diamond Necklace.

Our brief program began with heartfelt remarks from our Board President, Alauna Vallot, who expressed gratitude for everyone's shared passion for empowering others. After a quick intermission for some door prize drawings, long-time volunteer, Sim Thorne, shared an inspiring testimonial about some of her most impactful experiences with clients.

As the evening progressed, another touching story emerged.

Adding a heartwarming twist to the event, one of District Winery's bartenders, Jasmine, shared a poignant story with our staff. Before landing her job at the winery, Jasmine was a former client at Suited for Change. Thanks to the professional attire and confidence she gained through our program, she secured her position and has since become an invaluable team member at District Winery.

Jasmine’s testimonial was a powerful reminder of our mission's impact, inspiring guests and helping to make this our highest grossing gala ever, raising over $100,000!

We are immensely grateful for our ever-growing community of partners as we continue to empower women on their journey to financial independence. Special thanks to our Gala chair, Robin Finnell, for her outstanding dedication and leadership.Thank you for standing with us as we make a lasting difference together!

P.S. Stay tuned for more updates about Jasmine’s continued journey with Suited for Change!
