Celebrating Resilient Mothers

Suited for Change and Cabi Host Special Mother's Day Event at St. Ann’s Center

What a wonderful way to honor the resilient mothers in our community! Last Saturday, May 11th, Suited for Change, in collaboration with Cabi, hosted a lovely Mother's Day event at St. Ann's Center. It was truly a heartwarming celebration filled with love and appreciation.

At the event, we had the pleasure of providing our resilient mothers with a day of pampering and joy. Here's a glimpse of the activities that brought joy to their hearts:

Each mother received a personalized styling session, adorning herself with brand-new clothing items from Cabi. This not only enhanced her outer beauty but also boosted her confidence and self-esteem.

The little ones had the opportunity to pick out jewelry pieces to gift to their beloved moms. It was a touching moment that symbolized the bond of love between mother and child.

Kids also unleashed their creativity by crafting personalized cards for their moms, expressing their deepest love and gratitude.

Additionally, each client received a gift bag sponsored by CREW DC, adding an extra touch of warmth and generosity to the occasion.

The turnout for the event was truly inspiring, with attendees expressing their gratitude and appreciation for the support and kindness they received.

Among the attendees were representatives from five referral partners, including Catholic Charities, DC Central Kitchen, and St. Ann's Center, adding to the sense of community spirit.

Natalia, one of the participants, expressed her gratitude, capturing the essence of the event's impact on herself and her fellow mothers.

"I'm really grateful to everyone who made this event happen. Their support not only gave us beautiful clothes but also encouraged us to grow as women. Thank you all for your kindness and attention. I feel happy and grateful, and I believe other moms feel the same. Thanks a lot! I hope to join another event like this someday."

We are incredibly grateful to the Cabi Foundation for its generous donation of 225 new outfits. Cabi specifically chose Suited for Change as the recipient of these clothes in the Washington DC area. Additionally, they are hosting more than 60 styling events like this across the US, Canada, and the UK in May. The Heart of Cabi Foundation works to empower women through restoration, transformation, and education.

We are so thankful to have been able to come together as a community and celebrate the incredible mothers in our midst. Their resilience, strength, and love inspire us every day, and we are honored to support and uplift them in any way we can.
