A little rain couldn’t stop us from having a great evening!
Our incredible board member and coaching volunteer, Diedra Yates, hosted our second Network For A Cause event with her sister Jeanine Carter at her lovely home in Washington DC as we wrapped up the month of September.
While everyone snacked on delicious food from Hip-Hop Chicken and Pampered Chef, Diedra and Jeanine shared their passion for Suited for Change with their neighbors, friends, and family.
To top the night off, the guests had a fireside chat with Liz Reinert, SFC Executive Director, where they learned about the many ways they can contribute towards our mission of empowering women.

Diedra first became acquainted with SFC back in 2019 during a clothing drive with her sorority. After our staff discovered her expertise in HR, they immediately put her to work. Diedra became SFC’s first professional development coach as we launched our new one-on-one coaching program in 2020. Within a year, Diedra joined our board of directors and has been a huge asset to our team.
Alongside her sister, Jeanine has helped organize multiple shoe drives for our clients with the National Council of Negro Women.
