Donor Spotlight - The Wonderland Ballroom
When you think of community, generosity, and a good time, few places capture that spirit quite like The Wonderland Ballroom. This year, Suited for Change had the pleasure of partnering with Wonderland Ballroom and its wonderful owners, Rose Donna and Matthew McGovern, who graciously hosted a series of Happy Hour events — completely free of charge — to help us connect with our supporters and spread the word about our mission.
Throughout the summer and fall, these happy hours became a lively hub for our community to come together, enjoy great company, and learn more about how Suited for Change empowers women across the DC region. Each event featured something special — from our Dress Rack and Jewelry Counter pop-ups offering discounted professional attire and accessories, to our Designer Wallet Sale at the final October event, which perfectly tied into our upcoming Power of the Purse fundraiser this November.
Beyond the fun and laughter, these gatherings embodied what makes Suited for Change’s work so meaningful — community members coming together to support women on their journeys toward economic independence.
We are deeply grateful to Rose, Matthew, and everyone at The Wonderland Ballroom for their generosity, hospitality, and belief in our mission. Their continued support reminds us that empowerment can happen anywhere — even over a drink and a good conversation. ✨

Fantastic article! I really appreciated how clear and helpful the explanations were. I also stumbled upon another great resource for reliable details here: https://trystlink.app/
I really enjoyed reading about how The Wonderland Ballroom brought people together through welcoming events and community support. It is always interesting to see how fashion and personal style can also create memorable connections, much like the iconic look of Eddie Van Halen overalls.
The donor spotlight shows how community support can help organizations continue their work. Celebrations and community gatherings can also encourage participation and creativity, with a david pumpkins skeleton costume fitting a Halloween theme.
